How to change your YouTube channel link Hover Text
Author: Alan Richardson
When I first added links to my YouTube channel, it never occurred to me that I could make the alt
(hover over text) more expressive.
How to add links to YouTube Channel
We want to add a set of links to the YouTube Channel.
The icons are clickable links to our other web properties: blog, Twitter, Instagram, etc.
Edit your Channel.
Then choose “Customise Channel”
Then Choose “About”. And we can customise or add new Links.
We have five links so we want to use them well.
Link Text
When I created my links I just added: Twitter, Instagram, etc.
- “Talotics.com”
- “Twitter”
- “Facebook”
- “Instagram”
Which is fine, and when I hover over the links I see the text that I added on the left as an alt hover text.
But I want to make the links more expressive, with more information, and more like a call to action.
- “Talotics.com Blog”
- “Instagram: @talotics”
- “Follow Talotics on Facebook”
- “Twitter: @talotics”
This provides more context when someone hovers over them.
